DESCRIPTION:The Lakeport Police Department\, City of Lakeport\, Lake County Behavioral Health Services and Lake Family Resource Center are collaborating to hold a Town Hall Meeting regarding homelessness and mental illness in our community. The intent of this meeting is to engage with the community and hear your questions and concerns. This is a complex issue requiring the collaboration of agencies and the community. The agenda will include: Overview of legislative and voter changes to criminal justice laws over the past decade. The mental health system in California including criminal justice aspects. Response to mental illness locally and constraints we face in that response in a rural county. The status of the Lakeport Police and Lake Family Resource Center Crisis Responder Program. A community call to action. A survey to receive public feedback. We hope you can attend this important meeting.
