The Lake County Rodeo Association proudly presents the 88th Annual Lake County Rodeo at the Fairgrounds in Lakeport on July 7 & 8th. This is a professional Rodeo sanctioned by the California Cowboy Professional Rodeo Association (CCPRA). We feature eight Rodeo events each night in addition to Local Team Roping and Local Barrel Racing.
Friday evening, July 7th will be the crowning of the 2017 Rodeo Queen & Princess, the Cutest Cowpoke Contest open to ages 3 to 8 years (no limit on contestants) and the Mutton Bustin’ contest open to ages 4 to 8 years. Mutton Bustin is also offered on Saturday, July 8th, only 10 competitors each night. The Annual Rodeo Parade takes place on Main Street in Lakeport on Saturday, July 8th, at 2pm this year. Entries are open to all equestrians and farm equipment such as antique tractors, etc. Featured as always will be our own Lake County Clear Lake Junior Horseman’s Drill Team, both evenings. Audience members will have an opportunity to play Cow Chip Bingo both nights; Friday’s winner gets $250 cash; Saturday’s winner gets $500/cash. The Platinum Spur Sponsor is Running Creek Casino; Saturday Dance sponsor is Eagle Distributing. The Rodeo Dance this year features The Fargo Brothers, a great Lake County Favorite! The dance begins at 9pm on Saturday.
