Come join us for a Guided Nature Walk and tour of the historic Ranch House at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park. The guided walk begins at 8:30am on Saturday, April 14th at 8:30am. Bring binoculars, sturdy shoes, water and sun protection. Meet in the parking lot next to picnic area at 8:15am for time to experience the early morning wildlife to be found in the Ranch House and Barn complex yard. State Parks Docent Brad Barnwell will lead the nature walk. After the rains, the trees are beginning to leaf and flower and wildflowers are beginning to bloom. The Park is green and lush, and the birds and bees are becoming active. It should be a beautiful day in the Park. Come and enjoy Brad’s wonderful knowledge about the area’s birds – those who are here year round, as well as those migrating through. Heavy rain will cancel the walk. Weather permitting, the guided walk will explore a loop over the Ridge Trail, Marsh Trail and Cache Nature Trail, traveling through many of the habitats that are contained in the Park. The precise route taken will depend on the weather and the condition of the trails. Following the walk, there will be a tour of the historic Anderson Ranch House led by Park Docent Gae Henry. If the walk is canceled due to rain, the Ranch House tour will begin at 8:30am. There is no charge for the walk or the tour, and parking is free for participants. Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Hwy 53, between Lower Lake and Clearlake. For more information about the nature walk, email info@andersonmarsh.org or call (707) 995-2658.
