"Army of Darkness" classic film

The GenX Cinema series presents Sam Raimi’s “Army of Darkness” on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 pm at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport. Entry is by donation. No host wine and bar will be open; additional refreshments will be on sale at the concession stand including popcorn and candy. This 1993 sword and sorcery spoof features Ash (played by Bruce Campbell), the hero from Raimi’s earlier hit film, “Evil Dead.” Ash is a handsome, shotgun-toting, chainsaw-armed department store clerk who is time warped into England’s Dark Ages in order to save the living from the demonic forces. Spectacular special effects and outrageous humor combine to make the audience scream with fear and laughter. The film is rated R with run time of 1 hour 21 minutes. “Army of Darkness” is sponsored by Blair Drywall & Painting, and presented by the Lake County Theatre Company and the Soper Reese Theatre.
