If you’re a bit curious about your own family history — your own “roots” — you'll want to come. If you're a seasoned genealogist, you'll know you can always learn from a kindred spirit. Anita Crabtree, prime pillar of the Lake County Genealogical Society, will offer hints and tips about checking out your own ancestors, pointing up the interesting and entertaining information that may be found along the way. She knows all the “secrets” of finding free genealogical sites on the internet, and getting past the blockages that can seem like brick walls in pursuing a lineage. (Ed.Note: A similar event many years ago got me snooping online, where I soon found somebody else had built, and made available, much of my family's tree back to 1665!) Chats start at 3 pm but it’s wise to get there a bit earlier. We are anticipating attendance by a group of descendants of John Henry Berry, who built the first house in Middletown. There is no charge. Friends of Gibson would appreciate any donations you care to offer, to help with our continuing efforts to build the museum’s collection, create new displays and promote its existence.
