The final Guided Nature Walk of 2026 at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park will be held on Saturday, November 14th beginning at 8:30am. The autumn season brings bright clear days and a chance to experience the fall bird migration that is in full swing at the park. The Guided Walk will be led by State Parks volunteer docent and California Naturalist Henry Bornstein, who has been leading guided walks in the park for almost 20 years. The guided walk provides an opportunity to observe wildlife at the park and learn about their natural habitat, as well as to learn about the natural and cultural history of the area. After the Guided Walk, there will be an opportunity to tour the historic Anderson Ranch House. The Guided Walk will begin at 8:30am. Bring binoculars and meet in the parking lot at 8:15am for an opportunity to observe the birds and other wildlife found in the picnic area. Sturdy shoes, a hat and water are suggested. The walk will take between 1½ and 2 hours, depending on the route taken. Steady rain will cancel the walk. Dogs are not allowed on the park trails, which pass through the protected Anderson Marsh Nature Reserve. The Ranch House tour will begin immediately after the conclusion of the Guided Walk. There is no charge for the Nature Walk and Ranch House tour and parking is free for those attending. For more information about the guided walk, email info@andersonmarsh.org or call (707) 995-2658.
