Anderson Marsh State Historic Park will offer a free, guided nature walk beginning at 8:30am on Saturday, March 14th. There will also be a tour of the Anderson Ranch House after the walk. There is no charge and parking is free for those attending. Rain will cancel the event.
This month’s Nature Walk will be led by Park docent Roberta Lyons, who asks that participants arrive at the parking lot by 8:15 a.m. so they can have time to explore the wildlife found in the ranch house yard. The spring birds are arriving, such as the white-tailed kite pictured above, and it should be a beautiful day in the Park.
This guided walk will explore parts of the Ridge, Marsh and Cache Creek Trails. The precise route taken will depend on the weather and the condition of the trails.
Participants should bring binoculars if they have them, and wear sturdy shoes and a hat. The walk should take between 1½ and 2 hours.
