Anderson Marsh State Historic Park continues to hold monthly guided nature walks. The next walk is scheduled for Saturday morning, June 9th at 8:30am. Join Tom Nixon, former State Parks Ranger at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park, as he leads a leisurely walk on the Cache Creek and Ridge Trails. A chance to hear Tom talk about the Park should not be missed. As the Park settles into summer, this should be a great opportunity to see resident birds, late spring and early summer flowers and dragon flies. Meet in the parking lot at 8:15am to have time to experience the early morning wildlife to be found in the Ranch House and Barn complex yard. The walk begins at 8:30am. The 2½ to 3-mile guided walk will begin and end at the parking lot and should take about 2 hours. Bring your binoculars. At this time of year, you are also encouraged to bring sun hats and water. There will be a guided tour of the historic Anderson Ranch House after the walk. There is no charge and parking is free for those attending. Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Hwy 53, between Lower Lake and Clearlake. For more information about the nature walk, email info@andersonmarsh.org or call (707) 995-2658.
