Great Jazz Quartet at Tallman Concert...
Description
Each fall and winter, the Tallman Hotel hosts a series of monthly intimate and informal Sunday afternoon house concerts in the Meeting House next to the Hotel.
Jazz vocalist Kenny Washington, scheduled to perform with Jeff Massanari at our upcoming Tallman Concert with Conversation, has tested positive and has had to cancel his appearance. However, we've assembled three of the best jazz performers in Mendocino County to join Jeff this Sunday.
Because of COVID precautions, we will be limiting the audience to those with proof of vaccination. We will also take extra ventilation precautions in the Meeting House and limit audience size to allow for social distancing.
Tickets at $30 + tax can be purchased at EVENTBRITE.COM or by calling the Tallman Hotel reservation desk at 707-275-2244 ext. 0.
Notes on Washington and Massanari:
Recently dubbed “the Superman of the Bay Area jazz scene” by the San Francisco Chronicle, Kenny Washington is a jazz virtuoso who thrills audiences with his soulful interpretations, seemingly limitless range, and rapid-fire scatting. A native of New Orleans who grew up singing gospel in church, Kenny studied various styles of music at Xavier University and then performed worldwide with the U. S. Navy band for nine years. He then settled in the Bay Area where he has recorded, collaborated with others, and was the featured artist at the “Top of the Mark” for many years.
Jeff Massanari is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston, He’s been performing and teaching jazz and blues since he was a teenager. One of the Bay Area’s most in-demand guitarists, Jeff is fluent in many styles including straight-ahead jazz, fusion, blues, rock and country. He is often called on to accompany visiting artists with the San Francisco Symphony at Davies Hall and Stern Grove. Jeff has a long-term commitment to bringing jazz to high school students in the North Bay Area.

Pictured above, they are BARNEY MCCLURE on piano, vocalist ROSEANNE WETZEL, guitarist JEFF MASSANARI and PIERRE ARCHAIN on bass. It should be great fun.
