The GenX Cinema series presents Wes Craven’s “Nightmare on Elm Street” and George A. Romero’s “Creepshow” on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 pm at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport. Entry is by donation. No host wine and bar will be open; additional refreshments will be on sale at the concession stand including popcorn and candy. From modern horror master Wes Craven comes the timeless shocker that remains the standard bearer for terror and gave birth to the most infamous undead villain in cinematic history, Freddy Krueger. “Nightmare on Elm Street” was made in 1993 and features Johnny Depp in his first starring role. “Creep show” is a merry, macabre exercise in ghouls and gags done up in five twisted tales by Stephen King. Made in 1982, this E.C. horror comic book-inspired film stars Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, E.G. Marshall and King himself. “Nightmare” is rated R with run time of 1 hour 32 minutes, and “Creepshow” is also rated R with run time of 2 hours. The films are sponsored by the Lake County Theatre Company, and are jointly presented by the Lake County Theatre Company and the Soper Reese Theatre. The Soper Reese Theatre is located at 275 S.
