MAC is honored to host acclaimed Pomo Basket Weaver and Cultural Educator Corine Pearce for our second Weaving Workshop as part of WEAVING - Weaving Baskets Weaving Bridges. This second Weaving workshop will take place indoors and outdoors at MAC as weather permits and be live-streamed on Zoom. Masking is observed indoors @MAC. Please bring a paring knife, clippers, gloves, water and lunch or snacks. Prior attendance at the November introduction is not required, but we recommended attending this one if you wish to participate in additional Weaving Workshops with Corine at MAC this year. WEAVING was designed in collaboration with Pomo Culture Bearers including Tribal Elder Millie Simon, Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians, Corine Pearce, Basket Weaver and Cultural Educator from Redwood Valley Little River Band of Pomo Indians, and Rose Steele Cultural Educator from Elem. WEAVING is supported in part by the California Arts Council. All proceeds from WEAVING activities support project components including documentation, live streaming and a catalogue of contemporary Indigenous artwork to be exhibited at MAC July-Sept 2022. If you would like to sponsor Weaving as a business please contact info@middletownartcenter.org
