About the Artists Will Siegel (guitar, vocals) has mastered the art of bringing musicians and their audience together. Eclectic in style, his experience has grown from nearly four decades of playing for northern California audiences. He began his career playing in the early ‘70’s with folksinger Kate Wolf. During the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, Will became part of the band, Willy and the Nighthawks, which became a favorite in the local bar and pub scene. Will enjoys his role as teacher and mentor as well. His Friday guitar class at Mendocino College is in its 10th year. Steve Baird (horns, bass) has been a tried and true member of nearly every ensemble Will Siegel has played in over the last three decades. Steve plays acoustic and electric bass, and takes center stage when he joins the horn section on baritone, flugelhorn or trombone. Les Boek (guitar, vocals) has a country blues style with distinctive tone and his vocal stylings are reminiscent of Elvis mixed with Hank Williams. Ellie Siegel is the group’s multi-instrumentalist, playing drums, percussion, saxophone, clarinet and mandolin. Keyboard master Tom Aiken’s musical background is in classical music, but he loves playing blues, jazz and rock. He can stretch out on the Hammond organ when the rhythm section is in the groove, and his left hand works overtime whenever Steve picks up his horn. Marilyn DeFrange (vocals) began writing songs at the age of 10 and played the ukulele and piano. Today the guitar is her tool for developing a writing style best described as a semi-acoustic eclectic mix with a rhythm and blues influence. She has performed with Will Siegel, Paul Kemp, Bonnie Raitt, Alex DeGrassi and Paul McCandless. Marilyn‘s voice provides an intimacy with the audience and runs the gambit from a delicate whisper to a full blown bluesy wail.
