Alex DeGrassi and the Real Sarahs at Tallman Concert with Conversation

Each year in the winter and spring, the Tallman Hotel hosts an intimate series of Sunday afternoon “Concerts with Conversation.” The shows feature some of the best musicians in Northern California and beyond in the lovely, informal setting of the Meeting House next to the Hotel. The events run from 3:00 to 4:30 in the afternoon, offering plenty of time for a late lunch or early dinner at the Blue Wing Restaurant.  Tickets at $30 + tax can be purchased online at EVENTBRITE.COM or by calling the Tallman Hotel at (707) 275-2244 ext. 0.

The March show features ALEX DEGRASSI, one of the country’s leading steel-string guitar virtuosos, backing THE REAL SARAHS, the harmonic duo of Sarah Larkin and Sarah Ryan.  In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the set will include a number of classic Irish tunes performed in their own unique way.

About the Artists:

Alex DeGrassi has been a unique voice in the world of acoustic guitar for the past 42 years.  His innovative approach to composing and arranging for solo steel-string guitar has influenced a generation of younger players.  His latest solo studio recording, The Bridge, was released in 2020 and includes six new original compositions plus his unique arrangements of classic folksongs and songs by Gershwin and Hendrix.  Alex has recently been collaborating with The Real Sarahs on the production of their latest CD.

Introduced by a mutual friend in 2010, Sarah ‘Songbird’ Larkin and Sarah Ryan have been nearly inseparable, musically, since.  As rising stars in the west coast Americana scene, The Real Sarahs have distinguished themselves as skillful harmony singers and evocative songwriters. Embracing many genres of music, you are likely to hear threads of folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass, and country running through their songs.
