Description
In October of 2013, the Ely Stage Stop volunteers began a partnership with the Northern California Old Time Fiddlers Association, District 10, and together they created the now-popular monthly Fiddlers' Jam. The Fiddlers’ Jam runs in the museum barn on the first Sunday of each month from noon through 2 p.m. Musicians of all ages with all sorts of instruments will descend upon the barn for the round robin style jam session. Celebrating Americana music, you will be treated to “old timey” tunes and sometimes a sing-along. Come ready to clap your hands, tap your toes, and get up and dance!
This free, family friendly event can be enjoyed by all, young and old alike. Come early to enjoy the latest museum acquisitions and displays. Enjoy a hay ride between the main house and the barn. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on one of the beautiful picnic tables. Enjoy the music with beverages and tasty treats provided by the docents. Bring your own wine and sip it in Ely Stage Stop wine glasses that are available for purchase.
Attendees frequently make donations and the money collected is split between Ely, to help fund the blacksmith complex that is currently under construction, and the Fiddlers Association, who uses it to partially fund their scholarship programs.
