Description
The next "Second Saturday" Guided Nature walk at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The Guided Walk will be led by State Parks volunteer docent and certified California Naturalist Henry Bornstein. The Nature Walk will provide an opportunity to observe wildlife at the park and learn about their natural habitat, as well as learning about the natural and cultural history of the area. After the Guided Walk, those interested will have an opportunity to tour the historic Anderson Ranch House. The Guided Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. Bring binoculars and meet in the parking lot at 8:15 a.m. for an opportunity to observe the birds and other wildlife found in the picnic area. Sturdy shoes, a hat and water are suggested. The walks take between 1½ and 2 hours, depending on the route taken. Dogs are not allowed on the park trails. The Ranch House tour will begin immediately after the conclusion of the Guided Walk. There is no charge for the Nature Walk and Ranch House tour and parking is free for those attending. Anderson Marsh State Historic Park is located on Hwy 53, between Lower Lake and Clearlake. For information about Anderson Marsh State Historic Park, visit https://andersonmarsh.org.
