Join us for our Juneteeth - Emancipation Day -Celebration at Middletown Art Center featuring authentic Kenyan dinner, live performances and a dance party. Dinner starts at 6pm followed by performances at 7pm including an introduction by Musician/Composer Clovice Lewis, call and response singing with Gloria Scott, poetry reading by Lake County Poet Laureate Georgina Marie, West African Dance and Drumming featuring Djibril Camara, and live music and dancing with the Midnight Sun Massive band (Soul, Reggae, Ska Calypso). Also at 4:30 pm: Sounds of Liberation intimate performance and conversation with Clovice Lewis about race and music on Zoom. The Juneteenth celebration is free to the public.
