In honor of our veterans, wreaths will be presented by local merchants and service organizations. For 23 years, the students enrolled in the Middletown High School Floral Design class have designed the wreaths. The Military Funeral Honors Team of Lake County will begin the ceremonies. Pastor Aaron York of Jesus Christ Fellowship will offer the Invocation, and Taps will be played. The Team will then perform the three-volley salute. Patrick Prather and the Patriot Guard Riders will usher them in. 4H is in charge of the flag ceremony. Linda Diehl-Darms will act as Mistress of Ceremonies. Girl Scout Troop 10536 will help with wreath placement and programs, and they will place a flag on each of the 232 Veterans’ graves. Charise Reynolds will sing the National Anthem. District One Supervisor Helen Owen will be the guest speaker. Jim Comstock, former District One Supervisor, will read the names of the Veterans buried in Middletown Cemetery. The Benediction will be offered by Voris Brumfield Reed, Pastor of the Middletown Methodist Church.
